Schiedel Chimney Systems’ Opus Scanfire has won best Flueing and Ventilation Product at this year’s Hearth & Home Awards, making the flue and chimney manufacturer a winner for the second year running! Designed in collaboration with Firepower Heating Ltd., the Opus Scanfire, part of Schiedel’s Isokern insulating pumice range, allows a real fire to be specified for any new build – including timber-frame properties where a fireplace wouldn’t normally be recommended.
As the chimney and frame are made from pumice, heat is not only kept in, high temperatures on the surface are also prevented, allowing for zero distance from combustibles.
As well as being highly efficient and safe, the Opus Scanfire is also stylish, inspired by the minimalist Scandinavian look that is so popular in contemporary homes. It’s easy to install too, delivered as a complete package that combines integrated air supply in the chimney with a convection insert, allowing heat to be perfectly distributed in modern, open-plan spaces.
Davinder Sangha, Marketing Manager for Schiedel, said: “We are delighted to win again at this year’s Hearth & Home, testament to our continued development of innovative products to meet the requirements of modern wood burning. The Opus Scanfire is a great new addition to the Schiedel range, bringing the warmth and aesthetic of an open fire to new builds in way that is easy to specify and fit, while boasting high efficiencies and a stylish design.”
The Hearth & Home exhibition took place from the 10th – 12th June at the Harrogate Convention centre. Schiedel’s award winning product in 2017 was the ICID Double Wall adjustable starter section pipe.
