Onslow Gardens, Knightsbridge

by Francesca

Appointed as the interior designers for a tired and dark one-bedroom apartment in Knightsbridge, Juliettes Interiors transformed a blank, uninspiring space into a contemporary, bright and attractive home, perfect for attracting upmarket renters.

Inspired by the surrounding greenery, Juliettes Interiors wanted to create symbiosis between the interior and exterior, making the most out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. A contemporary glass dining table makes a statement in this wonderfully open-plan living space, which was cleverly positioned in front of the windows to reflect the outside trees beautifully.  With budget a key consideration for the project, the interior design was carefully planned to make the most of the existing features and space.

The living area was transformed into a stunning, airy and inviting room. Designed to provide a relaxing feel with space to dine, sumptuous textures were used throughout. From a luxurious velvet sofa to delicate brass features on the desk and dining table, each piece was carefully chosen to ensure a natural yet luxurious finish that would appeal to a variety of tastes. An elongated mirror with a complementary black frame was positioned opposite the large windows to ensure light and foliage would bounce around the room. Leafy green and monochromatic cushions served the purpose of brightening the neutrally decorated apartment, adding layers and interest to the space.

A quick refurbishment ensured that the dated bathroom was given a sleek and contemporary look, with large grey slabs used throughout to deliver a clean and functional bathing space. Completed with light-washed floorboards, the end result is a bathroom that feels both bright and airy.

A feature bed was positioned in the centre of the bedroom with a few carefully chosen luxury furniture pieces. Elegant lamps and a central mirror added light and a homely feel to the room, with tantalising textiles used to add a splash of colour.

With Juliettes Interiors’ approach to luxury design, the developer was provided with an upmarket beautiful, yet functional property, which would appeal to a broad range of potential renters to ensure a high rental yield in the exclusive Kensington and Chelsea borough.
