Recover sofa: Sustainable experiment

by Francesca

Recover is a sofa with a sophisticated minimalist expression, made of upcycled materials. A passionate and sustainable experiment conceived by the Danish design duo Glismand & Rüdiger, edited by Bolia.

A clean graphic line, clear volumes, a pure and sophisticated expression: Bolia presents the type lounge sofa Recover, endlessly modular, and so durable that it could last forever. Recover represents the Bolia design philosophy: it is FSC®-certified, it is made of upcycled materials, such as excess foam from local productions, and offers almost endless flexibility thanks to its countless modules, adaptable to each space, needs and desires.

The simple modules can be associated in various combinations, and for those aiming at a more static expression, a set of oak brackets can be added, subtly noticeable in the backrest. Its detachable and therefore upgradeable cover is available in a wide range of materials, including the sustainable Bergo fabric, which is made from 98% recycled plastic.

The foam blocks, also made from upcycled materials, ensure a firm and sustainable structure with an added exclusive filling for outstanding comfort. Recover is a piece with a strong character, a perfect example of a furniture designed to last a lifetime.

Bolia was born in Denmark, and so was the renowned design duo Glismand & Rüdiger – an origin that serves as main source of inspiration in their approach to furniture design. When designing furniture, the design duo seeks inspiration from the vivid Scandinavian nature and materials while honouring the proud design tradition built on simplicity, elegance, craftsmanship and sustainable materials. For Glismand & Rüdiger Scandinavian design isn’t a label, it’s a commitment in their design-work. It’s something to be interpreted in contemporary and new ways, and something to be proudly honoured.
